Red Amarnath is a type of Amarnath, a flowering plant native to Asia. Its scientific name is Amaranthus caudates, and it is also known as Prince's Feather or Amaranth. Red Amarnath is a popular ornamental plant due to its vibrant, deep red flowers and long, thin stems. It is often grown in warm climates and is used in traditional medicine, particularly in Ayurveda. The plant is also a food source for several butterfly species. Red Amarnath is a beautiful and functional addition to any garden, providing a pop of color and attracting beneficial insects.
Sow red amaranth seeds directly into pots from April to June. Transplant into the soil in July. This plant thrives in warm, sunny locations with well-drained, sandy soil. Each packet includes a comprehensive growing guide and a sow-by date. Approximately 120 seeds per packet (+/- 20%). Height can grow to 40-60 cm tall.
