Tetragonia, also known as "summer spinach," is a leafy plant that tolerates heat well. Its triangular leaves, about 10–12 cm long and 5 cm wide, can be eaten raw in salads or cooked like regular spinach. Growing Tips Sow in pots from March to April, or directly in the ground in May. Transplant when the first true leaves appear, usually from late April to early May. Space plants 60 to 80 cm apart for optimal growth. It can also be used as ground cover at the base of tomato plants. Harvest the leaves gradually as the plant grows.
